AIIE  Asbestos Inspector (Initial)

Objective: EPA certification by passing the course test which will enable a person to apply for a Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos license.
Course Target:  Persons that want employment as an Asbestos Inspector.

  • The use of Drawings / Location of Asbestos
  • Touching to assess ACM Condition
  • Preparation of Asbestos Survey Report
  • Chain of Custody Form
  • Preparation for TDH state exam
Course Prerequisite: High School Diploma or GED.

Course Content: Understanding of the health effects, physical properties of asbestos/ACM. Familiarization with current federal, state, and local asbestos regulation as they apply to the asbestos inspector. Hands-on classroom examples such quantification, homogeneous area, functional spaces. Proper preparation of the final asbestos survey report, and practical do‵s/don‵ts within existing regulations. Other medical related information, air monitoring, laboratory analysis in general, and AHERA will be included in the course.

Test: At the completion of the course, a 50 question test will be administered. A minimum score of 70% or higher is required to for the course certification.
