AMPIE  Asbestos Management Planner (Initial)

Objective: EPA certification by passing the course test which will enable a person to apply for a Texas Department of State Health Services Asbestos license.

Course Prerequisite: High School diploma or GED
Course Content: Understanding of the health effects, physical properties of asbestos / ACM. Familiarization with current federal, state, and local asbestos regulations as they apply to asbestos management planners. Hands-on classroom examples such hazard assessment, hazard prioritizations, homogeneous areas, functional spaces, proper preparation of the final asbestos AHERA and O & M management plan reports, and practical do‵s and don‵ts within existing regulations. Other medical related information, air monitoring, and AHERA will be included in the course.
Test: At the completion of the course, a 50 question test will be administered. A minimum score of 70% or higher is required to for the course certification.
