LIRE – Lead Inspector (Refresher)

Objective:Passing the lead inspector refresher course test which will enable a person to apply for a Texas Department of state Health Services lead inspector certification.

Course Target:  Persons that want employment as a Lead  Inspector.

Course Content:

• Specific information and current safety practices related to the removal of lead based paints
• Specific information and current laws related to the removal of lead based paints
• Specific information and current technologies that are applicable to the removal of lead based paints
• Role and Responsibilities of the lead inspector
• History of Lead & Health Effects
• Applicable Federal, State, and Local Regulations
• LBP Inspection Methods
• LB, dust, and soil Sampling Methods
• Testing & Clearance Standards
• Preparation of the Written Final Inspection Report
• Record Keeping
• Cases Studies
• Preparation for TDSHS state exam

Course Prerequisite:  Current Lead Inspector Accreditation

Test: At the completion of the course, a 20 question test will be administered. A minimum score of 70% will be passing.
